FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for ChnmSG-5
- I am from NUS/ NTU/ IMRE/ ISCE2. How do I indicate my interest to attend? How do I submit my abstract? Do I need to do online registration?
-
- Answer: Participants, including invited speakers and award winners, from NUS and NTU (regardless of departments, faculties, schools, and divisions), as well as A*STAR IMRE and ISCE2 are to contact your respective organisation representatives for submission of abstract and group registration. You do not need to register online. If you are not in the listed organisations or A*STAR entities listed above, kindly register and submit your abstract online through the e-registration form here.
- I am not an SNIC award winner or invited speaker, and I wish to submit an abstract for poster/oral presentation. How do I indicate my preference? When and how will I know about the outcome of the abstract submitted?
-
- Answer: You are required to indicate your preference for either poster or oral presentation while submitting your abstract, either by group registration or via online registration. Due to limited slots available for both poster and oral presentations, we regret to inform that we are not able to accommodate everyone’s preference. Each participant can only submit one abstract for one presentation. We will let you know the outcome of your abstract submission, together with your registration status by email.
- Do I make payment before or after knowing the outcome of my abstract submitted?
-
- Answer: You will receive an abstract acceptance e-mail to notify you of the outcome of your abstract submission. Thereafter, you may proceed to make payment for the conference.
- I understand that Jurong Island is a restricted area in Singapore. Do I need to apply for a special pass to enter Jurong Island or access the conference venue? Am I able to make my own transport arrangement?
-
- Answer: Security clearance into Jurong Island is compulsory and will be processed once registration is confirmed. You will be issued a special temporary pass to gain access at the checkpoint on your visit if you do not have an active long-term Jurong Island pass. If you are intending to drive in, your vehicle number will require registration as well. We therefore urge everyone to indicate your preferred mode of transportation (shuttle-bus or driving) during registration and adhere to it on the day of the conference. You are strongly encouraged to board the free shuttle buses provided. You may also enter or leave the venue via Taxi at your own expenses. We also wish to inform you that private hire driver (e.g. Grab) may not have the necessary access into Jurong island. We suggest not to take the Jurong Island Bus Services 715, 716 and 718 for the conference as you may face complications and delays in security clearance during the morning rush-hour.
- I am not able to attend the full day of conference. Are there any transport arrangement or options that allow me to leave or enter the conference venue at a particular time?
-
- Answer: There is no additional shuttle bus services arranged outside those listed. You may wish to make your own transport arrangements if you wish to arrive or leave at certain timing during the conference.
- I am interested to attend as an overseas participant. Am I able to get any complimentary airfare and/or accommodations? Where can I get more information about travelling to Singapore?
-
- Answer: Please note that overseas attendees from individual registration are required to bear their own airfare, accommodations, and other travel expenses. You may wish to visit the following website for more information about travelling to Singapore: https://www.visitsingapore.com/travel-guide-tips/
-
I am interested to be a sponsor for the event. How may I do so and who may I reach out to?
-
- Answer: Thank you for your interest and generosity. Kindly drop the conference secretariat an e-mail and we will get in touch with you.
Please contact the conference secretariat if you have any other enquiry.
