   Dr Dien Padiman
   Senior Adviser
Dr Dien Pandiman is the Executive Director of Pidilite Innovation Centre Pte. Ltd. and is responsible for applied research and product innovations of surface coatings and construction chemicals for Pidilite Group of Companies. He has more than 10 years experience in these fields and his research interests are in the future and emerging applications of nanomaterials in surface coatings and construction chemicals.

He had developed many innovative products and successfully commercialised in the global markets. A Chartered Chemist, Chartered Scientist, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC UK), he is the Chairman of the RSC Singapore Section. He is a Member of SPRING Singapore’s Technical Committee for Surface Coatings, and is also a Technical Assessor, under the Singapore Accreditation Council-Singapore Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (SAC-SINGLAS) for technical audits at various independent laboratories in Singapore.

   Dr Wendy Leong Wen Yi

Wendy is a Patent Scientist in the Intellectual Property Department of Yusarn Audrey, which is a law firm that helps clients use IP strategically for their business and mission. She advises clients on their patent filing strategy, drafts patent specifications and assists in the worldwide prosecution of patent applications. She was awarded the Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys (ASPA) Book Prize for attaining the highest score in Paper B (Amendment of a Patent Specification) in the Singapore Patent Agents Qualifying Examination held in 2016.

Wendy obtained her PhD in Chemistry from the Nanyang Technological University and her BSc (Honours) in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore. She is a co-author of 11 research articles in top international peer-reviewed journals, which include Nature Chemistry, the Journal of the American Chemical Society, and Green Chemistry. Due to her contributions to the development of a green chemistry technology which was recognised to prevent pollution and have broad applicability in industry, she was awarded the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award by the Environmental Protection Agency, USA, in 2011.

   Dr Jie An Yang
Jie An is a Trainee Patent Attorney within the chemistry/life-sciences group of Davies Collison Cave, where he is involved in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in pharmaceutical sciences, nanotechnology and material sciences.

Jie An has a research background in pharmacokinetics, inorganic chemistry, nanotechnology and polymer sciences. He obtained his BSc (Honours) degree in Chemistry at the National University of Singapore, and moved on to obtain his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. During his PhD studies, his work centered on investigating the interaction of nanoparticles at the biomolecular and cellular level, ultimately cumulating in the publication in several peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Prior to joining Davies Collison Cave, Jie An spent about two years at Mitsui Chemicals doing polymer research, exploring the marketability and applications of propriety technologies.

   Miss Esther Loh Wei Tian

Esther is an IPM Consultant at IP ValueLab, an enterprise engagement arm of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS). She provides advice and consultancy services to businesses who wish to leverage on their intellectual property for business growth.

Esther has over 6 years of experience in IP management. Prior to joining IP ValueLab, Esther was with a technology transfer office, managing more than 500 IPs from national research institutes. She also had experience in MNC where she translated the technologies of her own led projects to potential products for the market. She has 12 patent families under her name as co-inventor.

Esther obtained her Masters and her BSc (Honours) in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore. She is a recipient of the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry Gold Medal (MSc) and currently a Registered Management Consultant, an SPRING-Recognised certification programme for management consultants.

   Dr Fu Xiao
Fu Xiao joined BASF as a research scientist and was in charge of various research projects in different industrial applications. His expertise includes the water treatment, antimicrobial treatment and oilfield chemicals. Fu Xiao joined Nalco Champion, An Ecolab Company in 2017 to focus on his research application in oilfield chemicals.

Fu Xiao obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore and his Bachelor degree from Peking University, China. During his PhD study, his research topic was the organocatalyst catalysed asymmetric synthesis. He published more than ten papers and one patent as first author and co-author. He was awarded the Reaxys PhD Prize in 2010, which is the leading prize for PhD students in chemistry around the globe.

   Dr Joe Zhao Yu Jun
Joe obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore and his Master degree in Chemistry from Chinese Academy of Sciences. After graduated from NUS, Joe joined the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), A*STAR., Singapore.

Then he started to work as Chief Operating Officer in EASYGO PTE LTD and AION SCIENTIFIC PTE LTD.    Dr Tan Chong Kiat
Chong Kiat is Scientist in the Analytical R&D Department at Procter & Gamble Singapore Innovation Centre. He is in charge of the study of colloid phases in hair and skin care products via thermal analysis, rheology and in-line process analytical tools.

Prior to joining Procter & Gamble, he was a Senior Member of Technical Staff at ATREC Pte Ltd. He applied his organic synthesis training to making and study of various defence related materials.

Chong Kiat obtained his PhD from the National University of Singapore making contributions to the field of organocatalytic asymmetric halogenation of alkenes. He also studied the use of polymer supports for solid phase organic synthesis of various nitrogen-containing carbon heterocycles. Both studies have resulted in over 20 publications.

   Dr Yuan Ming Jun
Ming Jun is currently working as a principal engineer at EMK Technologies. His current research covers R&D of industrial speciality chemicals, formulation of a novel or customised special chemicals for semiconductor usage. Since 2016, he is serving as an adjunct research scientist at the Division of Chemistry and Biological Chemistry, Nanyang Technological University.

Mingjun obtained his PhD in chemistry in 2010 from Nanyang Technological University. Upon graduation, he joined STATS ChipPAC Ltd, a wafer-level packaging company as a senior process engineer. In 2012, he joined Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering as a research fellow in the area of organic and medicinal chemistry.

Weiying   Dr Wei Ying
Wei Ying is Director, Scientific Affairs of SPRIM Singapore (Asia-Pacific) Ptd Ltd. She is responsible for clinical trial projects, involved in Regulatory and Scientific Affairs, Health Marketing and Communications to support clients to deliver winning health solutions and tangible commercial results.

Wei Ying was awarded MD from Guangxi Medical University and obtained her PhD in Chemistry (Food Science and Technology) from National University of Singapore.
