Dr. Ziyi Zhong has ca. 17 years research experience in heterogeneous catalysis and materials science. He received both his Bachelor’s (B.S) and Master’s (M. S) degrees from Wuhan University, and attained his Ph. D from Nanjing University in China (1995). Subsequently, he carried out his postdoctoral research at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, at University of Washington in Seattle and finally at National University of Singapore (NUS) for 5 years. In 2002 he was awarded a Visiting Fellowship by National Research Council Canada (NSERC) and worked in the Biotechnology Research Institute (BRI) in Montreal. Since 2003, he has been working in Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences (ICES) under the A-Star organization in Singapore. His research interests include the synthesis and application of heterogeneous catalysts, surface science, colloidal chemistry and self-assembling processes in solution. He has published 86 journal papers and written 1 book chapter (in press), filed two patent applications (pending). His papers have been cited ca. 1500 times. Currently he holds a position as a research scientist in ICES.
