Professor Hui Tong Chua
Hui Tong Chua is currently a Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Western Australia. He is the Chemical & Process Engineering Program Discipline Leader and was responsible for the launching of the Chemical & Process Engineering teaching program at the University. He works on the near zero emission catalytic cracking of methane into hydrogen and nano graphitic carbons as well as the development of a high temperature spinning disk reactor for the selective syntheses of nanoparticles. Concurrently, he is the Aboveground Engineering Program Leader of the Western Australian Geothermal Centre of Excellence, spearheading geothermal air conditioning and desalination. He is also a key Centre Partner of the National Desalination Centre of Excellence. Hui Tong is the recipient of the Second Runner Up Award (Research Organization Category) of the 2006 Western Australia Inventor of the Year for his Methane to Hydrogen Technology. Hui Tong received his B.Eng. (1st Class Hons), M.Eng. and Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore.
